In 2017, Pixeldreams created this augmented reality book for veterinary cardiology students. This book has been distributed in 15 countries and has been an international bestseller within its sector.
The augmented reality application shown below is a complement to the work 3D Cardiology in Small Animals published by the Servet de Zaragoza publishing house and directed by the cardiologist Pablo Gómez Ochoa. The application can still be found on Google Play and Apple Store for free download.
Once the App is downloaded to the mobile device, all you have to do is focus the camera on the QR codes that appear in the book and different dynamic 3D images of the heart and its pathologies will be displayed. Thanks to this 3D graphic resource, the veterinary student will be able to visualize and understand up to 21 pathologies in three dimensions, and consequently, the way in which the therapeutic lines should act.
The reader will be able to see and almost touch the heart in its normal state, floating and beating on the book like a hologram, as well as the pathophysiological changes that the animal experiences, for example, during congestive heart failure.
You will also be able to visualize the most common acquired and congenital pathologies in dogs and cats, establishing a link between echocardiography and three-dimensional structure through augmented reality.
