The Sea Starlight project is an educational initiative by 10 Spanish Nautical Schools and funded by the European Union that seeks to promote sustainability and the protection of marine ecosystems through the use of innovative technologies.
The project carried out by Pixeldreams offers a unique educational and training experience through the use of virtual reality (VR), combining astronomical navigation and immersive technology.
Sea Starlight allows participants to take a virtual trip into the past and embark on the Noa Victoria with Juan Sebastian Elcano and experience first-hand how ancient navigators managed to cross the oceans without modern technological instruments. Through VR, it is possible to recreate historical environments in which sailors used sextants, astrolabes and constellations as reference points to orient themselves in the middle of the sea.
